Writing the Old-Fashioned Way

In an era when artificial intelligence (AI) is taking over much of our lives, I’m a little old-fashioned when it comes to the written word.
Whether it’s to express deep emotions and share human experience, market a product or service, or educate readers about a complex topic, I still believe in the creative power and storytelling ability of the human mind. At the same time, I readily embrace new technology to help my writing reach new heights.
To AI Or Not To AI? That seems to be the question, as companies choose chatbots over flesh-and-blood writers, and wordsmiths wonder if they should look for new careers. As a writer and editor, I navigate this complex relationship with AI in the following way.
While I may use AI as a brainstorming partner, research assistant, and grammar coach, I write solo. I do have experience cleaning up and humanizing AI-created content, so if you have need of that, please let me know. No more AI hallucinations!
Where are we headed? I believe, I hope, that when the dust settles, we will be at a high level of co-creation with this brilliant Frankenstein’s monster for the good of all and to realize our greatest potential, machines and humans alike.
